Strategy Tag Paintball Games began in 1990 when keen paint baller Brent Matthews decided it was time Whangarei had a paintball field to rival the Auckland fields after playing in Auckland on a regular basis for five years.

The main field started with a few pushed up logs and small dwellings using cattle marking pistols. Through the years Brent has been involved with the Tournament side of paintball with his successful “Paint Contractors” side winning the National Champs in 1999.  He has been involved in the tournament side of things off and on over the years with running our own tournament the Northland Open.  His love of the woodsball side of things has clearly taken charge and that’s what he is committed to now. Being a semi-retired builder comes in handy when needing product or know- how to build the next bunker or tank.

When not providing the Ultimate paintball experience or spending time with their two girls:

Brent enjoys Rugby and farming, he enjoys a good salad with a steak on the side, a good doco on Theology, science and physics, loves awesome movies  and likes to listen to a little Pink Floyd.

Cindy has been involved with the business since 1993 as the administrator and on-field marshal. Outside of business Cindy trains for marathons, loves going to watch chick flicks with friends and reading good books.
